On March 11, 2017, it was a beautiful day when more than 200 family and friends gathered in Paradise Valley to help Emily Miller celebrate her 90th birthday. Friends came from as far as Montana, and family came from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada to spend some time with Emily.

There were five generations at the party, including a sister, Chickie; a daughter, Frankie; nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren Kaden and Mason, and cousins.

The only member of Emily’s immediate family who was not in attendance was Gage Avera, who is stationed in North Carolina with the Army.

Many friends from Paradise Valley were also in attendance, including members belonging to Odd Fellows and the Daughters of Rebekah. Emily has been a Rebekah for over 70 years.

Emily was born and raised in Oregon. She moved to Paradise Valley with her family in 1942.

She fell in love with Ernest Miller and they were married Christmas Day, 1944.

Once Emily moved to Paradise Valley, she never left except for several vacations.

As people were saying their goodbyes to Emily, she laughed and told them to come back in 10 years because she was going to have another big party when she turned 100.
